Well, after a very long winter, spring has arrived. We went to the park yesterday - our first trip to the park in probably five months. It is a mess of leaves (the city typically cleans up the leaves in the fall but the snow came too soon), twigs and a bit of post-winter garbage, but it was the park.
The kids had a great time on the swings. Seanie even joined in on the swinging fun. The sunlight on his face, I am sure, felt great (and gave him his Vitamin D load for the day). We are, of course, a bit of a sight as we take up all four swings.
Deckles bottom was wet within a few minutes as the ends of the slides still had puddles from Friday's rain. A little bit of sand dried up the slides for the older pair who enjoyed doing 'trains' down the slides, or the big fav of head first. Deckles will mimic but usually ends up in a heap of tangle arms and legs at the bottom. It was amazing to see how much his climbing skills have improved the past several months - the boy is fleet of foot and very steady.
We are off again today to the park after Sunday morning pancakes. We will probably stop by the SBUX for a pair of adult lattes then chase the troops around. I will hopefully remember the camera today - thinking about a 'stiched' picture of all four kiddos on the swings. I wouldn't mind a repeat of yesterday's afternoon naps - five souls (including mine) sound asleep in the afternoon for an hour - awesome!
Thank you for spring!
