Andrew is the second born of the crew - born at 8:19am on February 23, 2004. His birth was unremarkable compared to Kate's story (will save that for another post). As I remember it, he was a 'good' little baby for the first 5 days or so and then began to give us a run for our money as the spitting (exorcist projectile puke is a better description), coughing, snorting and the screaming soon became the expected norm. DH and I were terribly concerned daycare would actually give him the boot once he arrived in their care. Alas, our fears were misplaced and Andrew has grown out of that not so wonderful stage into a lovely, lovely little 2 year old boy.
Andrew has a tremendous sense of humour that can be best seen as he pretend plays with his train set, his favorite dinosaur or one of Kate's horses (which he calls 'George' but Kate insists is actually called 'Martin'). His best game seems to be with the train set and the little 'Sir Topham Hat' character. I always thought the little characters were a useless addition to the rather expensive train sets we buy, but obviously the designers at Learning Curve do know best. Andrew discovered the little guy about two weeks ago and the character is now central to all play. Jim and Andrew play these elaborate games of 'Top Hat' and the trains which usually disintegrates into a grown man chasing a 2-year-old around the playroom with 'Top Hat' in Bulstrode (a boat, if you where curious) and Andrew clinging to Gordon as he roars with laughter.
Unfortunately, this seems to occur about 15 minutes before the proposed bedtime - this behaviour does upset the routine ... but gosh, is it ever funny.
